Wesley “Bubba” Milton VanHoose

December 13, 1955 - May 6, 2022

Wesley “Bubba” Milton VanHoose of Brazoria (Wild Peach Village), Texas, passed from this life into God’s rest on Friday, May 6, 2022, after a long illness. He was a loving husband to his wife Floann of 35 years, caring father, loving PawPaw, and devoted friend. 

Wesley was born December 13, 1955 to Van and Bernice VanHoose in Corpus Christi, Texas. After graduating from Danbury High School in 1975, he went to work at DOW Chemical in Freeport. On September 15, 1986 he married the love of his life and best friend Floann Marie Waugh, and together they raised his two daughters, Melissa and Laci. He enjoyed, barbecuing, growing vegetables in “Bend Over Acres”, and “picking and grinning” with his guitar along beside his Dad and Uncle Slick. He enjoyed visits with his daughters and his grandson Timothy Taylor. In his freetime he enjoyed hanging out with his dog Bubby and faithful friends (you know who you are).

Left to treasure his memory is his wife, Floann VanHoose; daughters Melissa VanHoose and Laci VanHoose; stepdaughter, BobbyJo Newell (Rodney); stepson, Dennis Sawyer (Gail); grandchildren Nicholas Newell, Zackary Sawyer, Catherine Sawyer, Daxton Newell and Timothy; sisters, Sandra Amason (Benny), Libby Griggs (Paul), Karen Shugart (Glen), Betty Timms (Nathan); uncle, Slick Vickery (MaryLou); cousin, Ricky Iovanna and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Bernice Crouch; stepfather, Willie Crouch and his father, Van VanHoose. 

A Celebration of Life in Wesley’s Memory will be held at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria on Saturday, May14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
