Walter Daniels Jefferson, 83, of Bay City, TX, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

Walter was a member of Church of Christ in Bay City, TX. 

He received high recognition from Bay City ISD – deemed as “The Philosopher” and enjoyed fishing and listening to music. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Ollie Daniels; mother, Jetter Jefferson; brothers,
O. D. Jefferson and Charles Jefferson; sister, Judy “Jetta Mae” Jefferson; daughters, Laura Mae Mitchell and Brenda Mitchell.

Walter leaves behind loving memories with his wife, Bertha Jefferson, Bay City; sons, Roland Mitchell (Carla), Sugarland, Terry Mitchell (Judith), Germany, Joe Mitchell (Laura), Live Oak, Marvin Lander Daniels, Lake Jackson, Carl Lander Daniels, California and Jeffery Glenn Fuller, Lake Jackson; daughters, Jashona Jefferson, Pearland, Marion Almaraz (Raul), West Columbia, Joyce Wilson, California, Sheila Hebert, Angleton, Thora White, Freeport, Cynthia Davis, Clute and Ruby Daniels, Danbury; sisters, Mary Ann Sanders, Freeport and Wanda Gail Buckner, Lake Jackson; brothers, O’Neal Jefferson, Dallas and J. T. Alexander, South Carolina; best friends, Leroy Parker (Patsy), Bay City, Wilbur Hall (Wanda), Brazoria and Percy Walker (Faye), Freeport and  a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
