Von Herman Shelton

Von Herman Shelton went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in Angleton, Texas. Von was born on July 30, 1944, to Sherman and Mamie Shelton in Galveston, Texas.

He graduated from Marshall High School in Angleton, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Bishop College in Dallas, Texas. While at Bishop, Von was initiated into the Delta Sigma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated on December 11, 1963. Von received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University and became an attorney on May 18, 1976.

He was a great man of God, a leader in his community and will be dearly missed.

Von is preceded in death by his parents; wife Sandra F. Davis Shelton; daughter, Angela L. Shelton Blair; brothers, Allen Shelton and George Shelton; sisters, Sandra Shelton Lewis, Jewel Crump and Shirley Wallace.

Von is survived by his daughter, Sonya; son, Von Jr.; son-in-law, Eric Blair; grandchildren, Eric Blair, II and  Lindsay Blair; girlfriend, Vashi Whipple.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Windsor Village UMC located 6011 West Orem Houston, TX 77085. (713)723-8187
