Funeral services for Virginia Williams Diggs, 87, of Brazoria, TX, will be Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 32460 FM 1301, West Columbia, TX, with Pastor Arthur Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at West Columbia Paradise Cemetery.
She passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025 in Pearland, TX.
Virginia was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. She loved cooking, cleaning, fishing, and loved her grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed eating out, spending time with her classmates of 1959 and visiting with people. She never met a stranger and had a giving heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Filmore Williams, Sr. and Ida Lee Jackson Williams; sister, Betty Jean Wilkes; husband, Alphonse Diggs; brothers, Filmore Williams, Jr., Theople “Sonny” Williams and Herman Ray “Baby Boy” Williams.
Virginia leaves behind loving memories with her son, Joe Sterling Williams (Ethel), Brazoria; stepdaughter, Connie Phillips, Viva Carson and Margo Diggs, all of Houston; sister, Truever Williams, West Columbia and brother, Jerry Lee Williams, Liberty; 4 grandchildren, Brandon Williams (Kaysha), Brazoria/Louisiana and Jeremy Williams (Gabrielle), West Columbia and 4 great-granddaughters, Kyla and Korey Williams, both of West Columbia and Oakleigh and Wrenlee Williams, both of Louisiana; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Nichols, Robert Rebector, Jr., Steve Williams, Jordan Barrett, Don Morgan and Bryan Jammer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Williams, Edward Wilkes, Brandon Williams, Robert Rebector, Sr., Jeremy Wiliams, Roland McCormick, Jerry Williams and Brent Menephee.
Visitation will be Friday, July 18, 2025 from 5:00 p.m-7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.
