Funeral Services for Valerie Brookins, 47, of Angleton will be Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church Community Development Center, 523 North Parrish Street, Angleton, TX with Pastor Alvin Gills officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Rest in Brazoria, TX. 

She passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021 at UTMB in Galveston, TX.

Valerie was a loving and kind person who enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Catherine Davis; brother, Craig Mayberry and nephew, Craig De’Jon Mayberry.

She is survived by her husband, Horceio J. Brookins, Sr.; sons, Denzel Addison, Horceio J. Brookins, Jr.; daughter, Valencia Janay Brookins; sisters, Adrienne Mayberry, Tamara McElroy; brother, Richard Mayberry; best friends, Francine Thomas and Jessica Jackson; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Harrison Mayberry Jr., Brian Mayberry Sr., Joe Rowe Jr., James Davis, James Woodard Jr. and William Davis.

Visitation will be Friday, August 13, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton, TX.

Due to the COVID-19 Virus, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
