Sue Ellen Poland

Sue Ellen Poland, 76, of Sweeny passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in Houston, TX. She was born January 4, 1947, in Freeport, TX and raised in Sweeny.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, bird watching, singing in the church choir, and spending time with her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Walker: and aunt, Frieda Fureigh. 

She is survived by her mother, Sue Walker; husband, John Poland; sons and daughters in law, Carey & Shannon Dodson, David & Christine Dodson and Micheal Dodson & Gail Yarborough; sister, Diane Vaclavick; brother, Frank Walker; 11 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Memorial services for Sue Ellen Poland will be on January 13, 2024, at 1st Methodist Church in Sweeny, TX with Pastor Joshua Bynum officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m.
