Sally Beth Dawson Cossin
Sally Beth Dawson Cossin, 67, of West Columbia passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at her residence. She was born June 5, 1953 to Elmo and Maxine Dawson in Houston, TX. She grew up all over Texas but mostly in Brazoria County.
Sally worked as a waitress, in sales and in the shrimping industry. She learned to cook from both of her parents and learned waitressing from her mom while her dad was the restaurant’s Cook. Sally’s hobbies were reading, collecting books, gambling, gossiping and playing any type of games such as bingo, cards, scrabble, dominoes in which she usually won. She had her own bingo setup and was ready to go at a moment’s notice.
A favorite pastime was drinking coffee, smoking a cig and chatting it up. The woman could talk your ear off. She loved hosting big family gatherings and cooking for everyone. She loved and missed her late husband Tom dearly. She missed her loved ones and talked about them often. So we know she had a great big Family Reunion in Heaven surrounded by all of them.
She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Smith, Laura Thompson and spouse Jim, Sheila Blum and spouse Chuck; sons, Weldon Smith and spouse Mendy, Eric Reedy and spouse Melissa, Steven Cossin and spouse Monica; sister, Janet Pinion; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Cossin and Delores Bailey; 23 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 4 great, great grandchildren. She will be missed by her many cousins, friends, neighbors and huge family.
