Ruby Lee Davis
A Celebration of Life for Ruby Lee Davis, 98, of Angleton formally of Wharton, will be Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church Family Life Center, 523 North Parrish, Angleton, TX with Rev. G. R. Holland officiating.
She passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023.
She was a faithful member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church for many years under the leadership of Rev. C. McWashington. She loved to sing and was a member of the choir, as soloist and lead singer. She later united with the First Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. G. R. Holland’s leadership.
Her hobbies included fishing and cooking. Ruby adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a “people person” with a contagious smile, who never met a stranger!
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Annie Aldridge; husbands, Lodis Houston and Rev. H. Y. Davis; brothers, James, Garvie, Jessie, George Jr., and Marvin Aldridge; sisters, Frances Owens, Annie M. Frier, Arvella Houston, Willie M. Aldridge and Minnie M. Perkins; son-in-law, Nick C. Simon Sr. and granddaughter, Keva C. Simon.
She leaves to cherish her memories daughters, Lois Houston Jefferson (Waverly) and Ruby Houston Simon; four grandchildren, Darryl Jefferson, Reginald Jefferson, Mona Simon Lincoln (Sam), Nick Simon (Britney); seven great grandchildren, Brandon, Samone, Keylan, Kamryn, Laderrick, Brieanna, Nick III and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Darryl Jefferson, Reginald Jefferson, Nick C. Simon Jr., Keylan Simon, Brandon Lincoln, Nick C. Simon III and Laderrick Bryant Jr.
Visitation will be same day as service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
