Rosie Lee (Payne) Riggins "Rose"

Funeral services for Rosie Lee Riggins, 80, of Brazoria will be Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church in Brazoria with Rev. Jonathan Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Brazoria, Texas.

 She passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at CHI St. Luke The Woodlands.

 She loved gardening, flowers, fishing, watching sports and hanging out with her classmates. Her favorite teams were the Astros and Rockets. She graduated from Charlie Brown High School in the Class of 1959. She attended Franklin Beauty College. She was a member of the Court of Calanthe. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; Jesse Payne, Sr. and Francis Patterson Payne; husband, James Riggins, Jr.; brothers, Jesse Payne, Jr. and Alex Payne; sister, Alta Mae Woodard; step-children, James Riggins, III and Joseph Riggins.

 She leaves to cherish her precious memories, sons, Marvin Riggins, Sr. (Sheralyn), Spring, Frederick Riggins (Lisa), Beaumont and Reggie Riggins, Sr. (Patrice), Houston; daughters, Gladys Manning (Wallace, Sr.), Orlando, Florida and Kimberley Riggins, Houston; brothers, Herman Payne and Johnnie Payne both of Brazoria; sisters, Gertrude Austin, Theresia Green and Patricia Payne all of Brazoria, host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Harold Penn, Kevin Brown, Steven Jones, Don Morgan, James Payne, Russell Thomas, Andrew Sardinea and Kevin Foster.   

Visitation will be Friday, May 3, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.
