Roland Ingram
Roland L Ingram born on the 13th of August, 1925, in Eagle Lake, TX, to Irene and Lansing Ingram, passed away on Monday, the 14th of December, 2020. He was 95 years old. Roland was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Roland graduated from Eagle Lake High School. He then went on to serve honorably in the Navy during WW II. After returning from war, Roland began working in the oil fields and rough-necked in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. He retired from Phillips 66 after more than 30 years of service. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and trying to catch a fish or two.
He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a long-time member of the Church of Christ in Sweeny. He regularly shared his faith with others and had fond memories of teaching the high school Sunday school class.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 64 years, Bettie Ingram, and brothers, Royce and Leon Ingram.
Roland is survived by daughter Karen Hebert and husband, Lindsey, son Ken Ingram, both of Sweeny; two grandsons, Justin Cunningham and wife Jackie of Austin, Smokey Hebert and wife Michael of Sweeny; great-grandchildren, Devin Hebert (Tori) of Lake Jackson, Kristen Seidler (Shawn) of Brenham, Ethan Hebert of San Antonio, Marium Marta (Jenine) of La Porte, Alyzabeth Marta (Frankie) of Pasadena, Nicholas Hebert of Sweeny; great-great grandson Kieran Seidler, Brenham and a host of sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his faith, love, kindness, sharp wit and a healthy sense of humor.
A private family graveside service will held at Sweeny Cemetery and a Paw Paw Roland celebration day will be held in the spring.
