Funeral services for Robert Earl Spears, 61, of Angleton, TX, will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church Family Life Center in Angleton, TX, with Reverend Torrence D. Spears, officiating and Reverend G. R. Holland, eulogizing. Interment will be at the Houston National Cemetery.
Robert Earl Spears passed away on February 12, 2026, in Houston, TX.
Robert was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Angleton and enjoyed fishing, listening to Gospel music, gardening plants and vegetables, traveling, watching his favorite western shows, and spending time with his family and friends. Robert served his country honorably in the U.S. Army for eight years (1983 to 1991).
He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Spears, Sr.; brothers, Christopher B. Spears, Edward Spears, Jr., and Joseph C. Spears, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Roosevelt and Ophelia Spears, and maternal grandparents, Theo and Beatrice Richard.
Robert is survived by his mother, Mary Spears; wife, Cynthia Spears; sons, Brandon Dennis and Johnny Gasaway; daughters, LaKisha Ward, T’Annah Washington, D’Annah Washington, Brandy Goins, and Latiese Smith; sisters, Virginia Ann Robinson, Catherine Griggs and Edwina Spears; and brother, Kenneth B. Spears, Sr.; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Matthew Spears, Ernest Brinkley, Jay Robinson, Arthur Lynn Smith, Joseph McGhee, Vincent Ward, and Marvin Hall.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11a.m.at First Missionary Baptist Church Family Life Center in Angleton, TX.
