Robert Lee Bonner "Bob"

Funeral Services for Robert Lee Bonner, 92, of Brazoria, TX will be Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Church in Brazoria with Pastor Booker T. Randon officiating and Pastor Kenneth Bonner eulogizing.  Burial will follow at Mims Cemetery in Brazoria.

Robert passed away at his residence on Tuesday, November 29, 2022.   He was a lifetime member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Brazoria where he served as chairman of the Deacon Board, Church Treasurer and member of the Men Chorus.  He played baseball and enjoyed fishing, hunting, working puzzles, watching westerns and football.

His greatest achievements included the State of Texas Award Recognition for Setting an Example for Neighbors and President of the Mims-Hinkle Ferry Community.  Bob worked at Channel Services, Dow Badische and BASF.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Bonner and Evelyn Alfred; grandmother who reared him, Lillie Williams; grandfather, Williams Walls; aunt, Lillie Williams; uncles, Daniel Williams and Issaac Williams and other uncles and aunts whom he was reared with.

Left to treasure his loving memories is wife, Ernestine D. Bonner, Brazoria; sons, Robert Earl Bonner (Marjorie), Brazoria, Gerald Bonner (Zeola), Freeport,  Rev. Kenneth Bonner (Carolyn), Hercules, CA and Marcus Bonner (Rosalind), Brazoria; bonus son, Daniel Wayne Williams (Leonor), Angleton; daughters, Charlotte Hawkins (Thomas, Jr.), Houston, Rhonda Tolbert (Harold, Jr.), Austin, Melinda Bonner and Katrina Hooper both of Brazoria; brother, John L. Bonner (Lillie), Missouri City;  best friends, Robert Randon and Robert Hodge; 31 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Due to COVID-19 Virus, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
