Ricky Renard Woodard, Sr.
Funeral services for Ricky Renard Woodard, Sr., 64, of Bay City will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lane with Rev. A. H. Floyd, officiating and Rev. K. W. Bree, eulogizing. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cedar Lake.
Ricky who was affectionately known as “Fat Cat” or “Big Cuz” or “Big Rick” passed away on April 4, 2025 at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
He graduated in Van Vleck, TX with the class of 1980 and worked 13 years at Excel Industries and enjoyed his hot shot job on the side for a number of years. He loved listening to country music, farming, roping and enjoyed going to the Livestock Show and Rodeos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Jr. and Ernestine Blanton-Woodard; sisters, Eddie Faye Wyche, Wanda Floyd, Paralee Brown and sister-in-law, Brenda Woodard.
Ricky leaves fond memories with his wife of 32 years, Varnessa Woodard, Bay City; sons, Ricky Renard Woodard, Jr. (Morgan), Dallas, Devin Deshawn Williams (Jennifer), Lake Jackson, Byron Mack (Crystal), Angleton; sister, Marquetta Woodard, Brazoria; brothers, Jerry Woodard, Sr. (Sandra), Brazoria, Charles Woodard (Diane), Van Vleck, Hollis Woodard, Cedar Lake, Elgin Woodard (Sharon), Live Oak, Marvin Woodard (Cheryl) Cedar Lake, Curtis Woodard (Carol), Angleton, Jeffery Woodard (Chenikka), Rosharon; brother-in-laws, Johnny Roy Wyche, Cedar Lane, Rev. A.H. Floyd (Joyce), Cedar Lake, March Brown (Quitha), Rosharon; god brother, Volando Carter, Clear Lake, CA; aunt, Dorothy Blanton, Houston; 5 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.
Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Woodard, Jerry Woodard, Jr., Montrell Brown, Montrae Brown, Kadarius Woodard and Marvin Jones.
