Rickey Joe Adcock

Rickey Joe Adcock, 80, of Brazoria passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at home, surrounded by his family.  He was born to John Wesley Adcock, Jr., and Marjorie Constance Southern on July 6, 1945 in Cuero, Texas.

Rick was a Veteran of the US Army and veteran of Law Enforcement. He began a career with HPD that ended with Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department, giving over 18 years of service to his County and State. He was a good man known for his good heart. No matter where he was in life, he would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He was also a loving, quick-witted, and humorous Dad, Pawpaw, Brother, and Uncle. Even in his last few years, as his memory began to fade, his quick-wit and humor never did. Anyone who spent time with him was guaranteed a laugh. He is very loved and will be greatly missed.  

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara E. Hausman, and brother, John Wesley Adcock, III.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories; daughters, Sheila R. Adcock of Brazoria, TX., and Deidre K. Adcock of Lake Jackson, TX; sister, Brenda J. Ivory of Houston, TX; Two grandsons; Cullen Adcock and Caden Kuba;  Four granddaughters; Haley Ainsworth, Sierra Smith, Megan MacClain, and Alyssa Smith; Two great grandsons, Andrew Ainsworth and Kaleb Ainsworth; One great granddaughter, Haisley Ainsworth; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral will be held at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria, Texas on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Viewing will be at 10am. Service will begin at 11am.

Burial will be at 3pm at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero, Texas.

Active Pallbearers will be Cullen Adcock, Roddy Adcock, Caden Kuba, Jesse Brown, John Ainsworth, and Devin Owens.
