Richard Peterson, Jr.

Funeral services for Richard Peterson Jr., 89, of Alvin, will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Dixon Funeral Home - Angleton, with Minister John C. Whitley officiating and Minister Algie Armstead eulogizing.  Burial will follow at Paradise South Cemetery in Pearland, TX.

Richard passed away at CHI St. Luke Health – Brazosport Hospital on Sunday, May 1, 2022.

He was a Mason brother and a member of the St. Holland Baptist Church in Navasota, Texas.  He was a loyal employee at Affiliated Rice Milling, Inc. in Alvin, Texas for forty plus years.

His hobbies included fixing puzzles, watching Western TV shows, remote control cars and doing anything he could, working with his hands.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Peterson Sr.; mother, Edna Brooks Peterson; sister, Elizabeth Turner; brother, Robert James Peterson, Sr. and best friend, Johnny Dunham.

Richard leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Cynthia Turner, Lake Jackson, Texas; sisters, Berniece Peterson and Helen May, Alvin, Texas and Vora Lee Balladino, Navasota, Texas; brother, Otha Peterson, Pearland, Texas; best friend, George Stepner, Angleton, Texas; two grandchildren, Audrey Turner and Allen Turner; five great grandchildren, Artavious Turner, Aerious Turner, Aeriona Turner, Kieran Lunford, Kallum Higgins; two great- great grandchildren (upcoming arrivals) and a host of other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Allen Turner, Artavious Turner, Aerious Turner, George Stepner, Kerry Steptoe and Damien Johnson.

Visitation will be Friday, May 13, 2022 at Dixon Funeral Home, 2025 East Mulberry, Angleton, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.

Due to the COVID-19 Virus, masks are optional and everyone must practice social distancing.
