Funeral services for Rev. Jerry Higgins, Sr., 83, of Brazoria will be Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Church in Brazoria, TX with Elder Roland K. Hendricks officiating and Pastor L.D. Griggs, Sr., eulogizing. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.
Rev. Higgins passed away on Thursday; February 22, 2024 at Paradigm at Sweeny, formerly known as Sweeny House.
He was an Associate Minister at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading, watching T.V., ranching and volunteering at the church. In his earlier years, he served in the United States Army and worked as a pipefitter at Dow Chemical.
Rev. Higgins leaves precious memories with his wife of 59 years, Jean Ann Higgins of Brazoria; sons, Jerry Z. Higgins, Jr. of Brazoria and Tracy A. Higgins (Shirley) of Angleton; daughter, Karen Zellers of Houston; sisters, Polly Cooper of Missouri City, Geneva Shannon of Houston, Lola Newman (Calvin) of Brazoria; sister-in-law, Verlinda Higgins of Houston; brother, Travis Higgins (Erma Jean); 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Mallon James, Jr., J’Ace Higgins, Jerry Higgins III, Jeremy Jackson, Earl Lewis, Andrew Higgins, Jr. Troy Mack and Keith Kenebrew.

Visitation will be Friday, March 1, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria, TX.
