Harold Williams, Sr, 89, of West Columbia, TX passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Heart to Heart Hospice in Houston, Texas. He was born on May 18, 1935, to Lee and Maggie Williams, in Richards, Texas.
Harold, along with his wife Dolores, founded New Life Tabernacle Church in Brazoria Texas in 1986. Together they pastored the congregation for 36 years. New Life Tabernacle is associated with the United Pentecostal Church International.
Along with being a pastor, Harold provided for his family for many years as a foreman, rig owner, and welder in multiple plants in the Clute and Freeport areas. He was well known in the area for his custom painted welding rig.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife Dolores Williams, that passed in March of this year; his daughters Mary Reichert and Sandy Stapp, his parents Lee and Maggie Williams; sisters, Doris Foley, Edith Brown, Earline Brown; and brother, Walter Williams, and two grandsons Marcus Stapp and Ronald Reichert.
He is survived by his sister, Hazel “Vonn” Brown, Huntsville, TX; son, Harold E. Williams, Jr (Ronnah) of Clute, Tx., stepson Rev. Timothy R. Kelley (Dana) of Oakdale, LA; stepdaughters, Angela K. Contreras (Noel) of Humble, TX, Kellie A. Bowman (Grant) of Crowley, TX; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31st at New Life Tabernacle Church, 221 E. Texas St., Brazoria, TX with Rev. Danny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery, 1020 Sinclair Street, West Columbia, TX.
Active pallbearers will be Gene Reichert, Donald Reichert, Blake Williams, Jared Strother, Mark Jarnecke, and Aaron Murphy.
