Funeral services for Percy Ware, 59, of West Columbia will be Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Greater New Prospect Baptist Church, 14020 W. Richmond St., Needville, TX with Pastor A.L. Edwards eulogizing and Rev. Utah Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Needville, Texas.
He was a graduate of Columbia High School in West Columbia. On January 12, 1990, he married Sandra Kay Watson and they made their home in West Columbia.
He worked for BASF until his health began to fail. He was affiliated with three churches, First Missionary Baptist Church of West Columbia, Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church of McBeth and last Greater New Prospect Baptist Church of Needville.
Percy loved fishing, playing cards, board games, making up games to play with his grandchildren and spending time with his beloved best friend, Joe Canine Ware.
He was preceded in death by his father; Robert; mother, Loucresa and son, Jerrod.
Percy leaves precious memories with his wife of 28 years, Sandra; daughters, Tosha Williams of Sweeny and Amber Clay of Florida; brothers, Robert Levi, Sr. (Kim) and Richard Eason, Jr. (Ida) both of West Columbia; step-brother, James Holloway (Erma) and step-sister, Terry Davis both of Rosenberg; play-sister, Barbara Brown White of Angleton; friends that sticketh closer than a brother, Sammie Polk and Kerry Jones. He also leaves fond memories with his stepmother, Occie Ware of Rosenberg, sister in laws, Linda (Van), Lena (Larry) and Barbara; brother in laws, R.L., Leon (Brenda), Larry (Leola) and Dwayne (Toni), eight grandchildren, host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Milton Cockrell, William Brown, Vernon Jones, Branch Robinson, Sammie Polk and Roland McCormick.
Honorary pallbearers will be R.L. Watson, Leon Watson, Larry Watson, Dwayne Watson, Van Walker, Larry Williams, Kerry Jones, William “Bo” Jones, Michael Jones and Leo “Junebug” Baldridge.
Visitation will be Friday, October 12, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria. There will be viewing at the church on the day of the service from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be no viewing afterward.
