Murphy Allen passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 in Houston, TX.
Murphy was born on January 18, 1948, in Marshville, North Carolina, to Roy Wilson Allen and Christeen Lotharp Allen. From this loving union, six children were born, each a cherished part of his life. At an early age, Murphy left Marshville and made Houston, Texas, his home, where he embraced the craft of a local ironworker—a trade he held with pride and dedication.
Murphy cherished life’s simple pleasures above all else. A man of deep faith, he loved the Lord with all his heart. He found joy in quiet moments casting a line into the water, in laughter-filled gatherings with family and friends, and in the thrill of taking his Corvette out for a drive along the open road. An enthusiastic supporter of the Houston Texans, he attended countless home games, celebrating the highs and embracing the camaraderie of the crowd. Music and movement also brought him happiness—he delighted in concerts, dancing the night away, and the exhilaration of race car events.
Murphy’s warmth, humor, and zest for life left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He embraced every day with joy, leaving behind memories that will be cherished by family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Wilson Allen and mother, Christeen Lotharp Allen; brother, LeRoy Allen and grandson, Darius DeShauwn Threatt.
Murphy leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Melinda Threatt (LaVincent) of Augusta, GA, Eureka Sinclair (William) of Charlotte, NC, Lakeisha Solis (Mac) of Clute, TX and LaToya Allen Clower of Angleton, TX; sisters Dorothy Allen Gaither of Charlotte, NC, Brenda Allen of Marshville, NC, brothers Willie Allen of Charlotte, NC and Miguel McDuffrie El Rizzo of San Diego, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 am at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton, TX.
Final arrangement entrusted to Dixon Funeral Home of Angleton at (979)849-8800.
