Funeral services for Michael Gregg Lemon, 62, of Caldwell, TX will be Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Fifth Street Church of Christ, Sweeny, TX with Bro. Devin Lemon, officiating and Bro. George McKnight, eulogizing. Burial will follow at McGrue Cemetery in Sweeny, TX.
He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan, TX surrounded by family and friends.
He was born and raised in Sweeny, TX and was a proud member of the Class of 1982. From an early age, he gave his life to Christ and carried his faith throughout his life. Michael was known for his love of family, friends, and sports, especially his unwavering support for the Houston Texans. He was also a talented handyman who loved using his skills to help others, whether it was fixing things around the house or lending a hand to family and friends. His generosity, kind heart, and willingness to serve others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Thomas “Tippy” Lemon, Sr. and Frankie Lemon; brothers, Douglas Lemon, Johnny Lemon, Thomas Lemon Jr., Thomas W. Lemon, John Henry Woodard and Stephen Lemon; sisters Harriet Lemon-Smith, Oris Jones, Katherine White and Susie Woodard-Mcknight.
He’s survived by his wife, Jacqueline Lemon of Caldwell, TX; daughters, Brittney Fletcher of Stafford, TX; LaShawnda Lemon of Rosenberg, TX; son, Gregory Lemon of San Antonio, TX; Step-Children Shalonda Lang (Pernell) of Sweeny, TX, Anthony Lang (Alyssa) of Lexington, TX, and Tenola Lang of Corpus Christi, TX.
His memory will be cherished by his siblings, sisters; Audrey “Tina” Bess, Betty Lemon and Kathy Lemon, all of Sweeny, TX; brothers, George Lemon (Wanda) of Sweeny, TX, Dewey Lemon of Pearland, TX, Carl Lemon of Clute, TX, Robert Lemon (Yvette) of Sweeny, TX and Donald Lemon (Audrey) of Bay City, TX. He is also survived by his aunt, Dorothy Brown Wright of Houston, TX; his mother and father-in-law, Janie and Danny Jones Sr. of Caldwell, TX; sister-in-law Zanetta Burns (Donald) of Caldwell, TX; brother-in-law Vernon Jones of Caldwell, TX,
In addition, Michael is survived by his cherished grandchildren; Kristan, Malakai, Alexis, Tayshaun, Tyree and Aaliyah, as well as his great-grandchild, Calyn. He will be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Michael’s life was a testament to his strong faith, love of family, his selfless nature, and his hands-on approach to life. Whether working on home projects or offering a helping hand to those in need, Michael made a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Active pallbearers will be George Bouya, Lemon, Gregory Lemon, Adrian Bess, Collin Lemon, Vernon Jones, Donald Gibbs,Floyd Ray Bess, Keithlan Bess, Benard Flores, Franklin Lemon, Dale Lemon and James Spriggs.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Lemon, Dewey Lemon, Carl Lemon, Robert Lemon, Donald Lemon, and Durell Lemon.
Visitation will be held at the church the same day of the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
