Michael Shawn Hall, Sr.

“Mike”  “Romeo”

A Celebration of Life for Michael Hall, Sr. 50, of Angleton will be Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Columbia Heritage Hall, 508 E. Bernard, West Columbia, TX with Pastor Marcus Lincoln officiating and Rev. Eric Gooden eulogizing.   Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in West Columbia.

He transitioned to his eternal home on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

Michael was baptized at an early age at Burrell Chapel Baptist Church under Rev. Nathan Ross where he served faithfully as a youth and sang in the youth choir.  As an adult, Michael became a founding member of Bibleway Outreach Church under Rev. Alonzo Brown. 

Michael attended school within the Angleton and Columbia-Brazoria school districts where he excelled in band, playing multiple instruments, and was a standout athlete in track and field.  He was a Rap/Hip-Hop Pioneer of Brazoria County, performing under the name Romeo as a member of the duo Ka-V-R.  He was a recording artist and Chief Operations Officer for the record label King B Records alongside friend, Dr. Larry K. Parker. 

Michael held many jobs throughout adulthood including working as an associate for pawnbrokers Stacy and Mike Murphy as a young adult.  Michael went on to work as a Medical Billing Specialist for Diagnostic Imaging Specialists and Central Medical Services for Dr. Larry Parker and Mike Rebescher, for many years.  In the later years of his life, Michael worked as a contractor in many local plants in Brazoria County as a scaffold builder.

He enjoyed barbequing, fishing, sporting events, riding horses, writing songs/poetry, training dogs and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his father, Mike Hall; brother, Brent Woodard; paternal grandparents, Taylor and Irma Hall; maternal grandparents, Clester and Rosie Lewis;  grandson, Amir’ Rion Griggs and special life-long friend, Dr. Larry K. Parker.

He leaves precious memories with his mother, Rosemary Hall; sons, Michael Hall, Jr., Zekoma Hall, Jacob Hall; daughters, Destiny Hall, Johanna Grice, Eboni Grice-Taylor (Robert); brothers, Mark Hall, Charles Hall (Clevetta), Ondre Hall (Shay), Jasmyn Ward; God sisters, Waverly Stone and Shana Perry; 12 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Hall, Jr., Zekoma Hall, Jacob Hall, Ondre Rashaun Hall, Jerrell Hall and Tristyn Hall.

Visitation will be Friday, March 24, 2023 at Dixon Funeral Home, Angleton from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
