Funeral services for Mattie Lee Fairley will be Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at First St. Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. R. W. Griggs officiating and Bishop Kenneth Fairley eulogizing. Burial will follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Brazoria.
Mattie passed away on March 12, 2022 at CHI St. Luke’s – Brazosport.
She was a graduate of Brazosport High School. She worked in home healthcare and was an artist. Having an eye for fashion, Mattie loved dressing up and keeping her hair and nails done. She always made a fashion statement!
Mattie was nothing less than an amazing woman. Every individual she encountered was impacted by her jokes, smile, laugh, and of course, her fancy nails. She loved the Lord and was a worshipper.
Mattie is preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary H. Fairley-Jones and Saul Jones, Sr.; brothers, Saul “Bill” Jones, Jr., Joe Issac Jones, Sammy Jones and Jerry Jones; sisters, Ruth H. Jones, Nancy Jones-Hurd, and Hulda “Sis” Jones.
She leaves behind her love and legacy to three beautiful daughters, Quentella Williams (Roy), LaQuesheia Lotson-Glass (Allen Jr.) both of Clute, TX and Lachica Edwards (Claude Sr.) Lake Jackson, TX; sisters, Betty Bolton (Joe), Escatawapa, MS and Sharon Dunlap (Alloyd “Lap”) Lake Jackson, TX; the love of her life for the past 20 years, Robert “Dan the Man” Brosius; special friend, Bertha “Louise” Rollerson; special nieces, Joyce Jones-Williams and Shannon Henry; 8 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Joe Jones, Brandon Holloway, Claude Edwards, Sr., Dillian Holloway, Robert “Dan the Man” Brosius, Antonio Williams, Kenyada Francis and Al’Vontres Glass.
Visitation will be Friday, March 25, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home – Angleton.
Due to the COVID-19 Virus, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
