Funeral services for Mary Ann Sanders, 88, of Freeport, TX, will be Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1615 Skinner St., Freeport, TX. Pastor Ed Perry officiating and Dr. Sandy K. White eulogizing. Burial will follow at Restwood Memorial Park in Clute, TX.

Mary Ann passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026 in Lake Jackson, TX.

Mary Ann was united in marriage to the late Robert Lewis Jackson. They started their life in Pledger, Texas and later moved to Freeport, Texas, where they raised five loving children ~ Niora, Darlene, Robert, Allen and Roy. Mary Ann was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Clute, TX and enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends, gardening, baking, and talking on the phone. Mary Ann was also a proud business owner of Superport, Mary’s Place, and Pine Lounge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Sanders; her parents, Pierce and Elizabeth Davis; her grandparents; son Allen Jackson; four sisters and seven brothers.

She leaves precious memories with her daughters, Niora Simpson (Kenneth); Darlene Mack (Robert); sons, Robert Jackson (Uvon) and Roy Jackson of Freeport, TX; sister Wanda Buckner; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Johnathan Stevens, Anthony Jackson, Anthony Lemons, Jack Jackson, Draymon Austin, Anthony Ford, Gary Strauther and Gaylan Strautner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Jackson, Roy Lester Jackson and the Deacons of New Hope.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Freeport, TX.
