Mary Bell (Farrington) Lognand

Funeral services for Mary Bell Farrington- Lognand, 101, affectionately known as “Big Mama” will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Wild Peach Community Church in Brazoria. Dr. R.E. Breazeale will be the officiant and Elder James Rebector will be the eulogist.  Burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery in Brazoria, Texas.

She was born on November 21, 1921 and transitioned peacefully on January 31, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She grew up and attended school in Brazoria and then went on to work for Stanger’s Ranch and heirs until her retirement. She confessed her life to Christ at any early age. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church where she faithfully served as a choir member, mission society and prayer warrior. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Court of Calanthe. As an avid traveler she was always ready to go with a suitcase in hand. She enjoyed reading her bible, gardening, sewing, cooking, taking care of the sick, watching baseball and westerns.

Left to cherish her loving memories; son, Eddie Perry, Sr. of Missouri City; daughters, Lillie Payne and Rosalie Backman both of Brazoria; special godchild, Rita Ann York; special nephews, Jimmy Marshall and David Coleman; good friend, Carrie Thomas; grandchildren, Christina (Gerald), Bridgette, Eddie, Jr., James (Donna), Jessie, III and Janette (Garry); 13 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2023 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.
