Marilyn Joan (Paulson) Steele

Marilyn Joan Steele of Brazoria, Texas passed away on July 14, 2022. She was fondly known as “Nana” by her family.  She was born on June 23, 1931 in Story City, Iowa to Franklin & Sara Paulson.

Marilyn married the Love of Her Life and Best Friend, Richard Steele on May 9, 1952 and moved to Houston to start their new life together.

They spent 31 wonderful years together before Richard left us to be with our Lord.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Richard Steele; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Marilyn was an active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church & worked in the Avon business for 15 years. After that time, she was a day care facility teacher of 2 year olds that she enjoyed and it showed the love she had for the children.

 She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren being outdoors in nature and always cooking for her family, at all special occasions and was an avid bridge player.

She is survived by her brother, Dwayne Paulson of Story City, IA; sons, Michael Steele of Conroe, TX, Gary Steele of Houston, TX & Ronnie Steele of Houston, TX; daughters, Diane Reifel & Susan Reifel of Brazoria, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, as well as many extended families and friends.

Celebration of Life for Marilyn will be held at Dixon Funeral Home, 1211 South Brooks St., Brazoria, TX on Friday July 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Rose Villarreal officiating

The Family would like to thank Cynthia Kay Ubben Atkinson of Lake Jackson, TX for the selflessness and love to our family during this difficult time and will never be forgotten.
