Funeral services for Maria Consuelo Chacon 71, of Freeport, TX, will be Saturday, January 10, 2026, 6:00 p.m.-7 p.m. at Lake Jackson Church of Christ, 402 Center Way, Lake Jackson, TX 77566. Pastor Westley Wilson will be officiating. Repast to follow, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Maria passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 in Freeport, TX.

Maria was a past member of Freeport Church of Christ. Maria raised four awesome adults who contribute to society in a positive and meaningful way. Maria also loved to knit.

She was preceded in death by her father, Miguel Chaidez; mother, Guadalupe Garcia; brother, Ernesto Chaidez and sister, Maricela Chaidez.

She leaves precious memories with her husband, Manuel Chacon, Sr., Freeport, TX; son, Manuel “Chito” Chacon, Jr.; daughters, Esther Rubi Bothwell, Norbertha (Betty) Zavala and Lorena Smith; sisters, Maria Dolores (Lola) Garay, Maria Luisa (Licha) Rangel, Maria Guadalupe (Lupe) Garay and Maria Hortencia (Tencha) Chaidez; brothers, Adrian Chaidez, Filiberto Chaidez, Miguel Chaidez, Lucio Chaidez and Jose Angel Chaidez; 13 grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Lake Jackson Church
of Christ, 402 Center Way, Lake Jackson, TX 7756.
