Margaret Woodard Brown

“Mott”

Funeral services for Margaret Brown, 83 of Danciger will be Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lake with  Rev. Larry Jackson officiating and Rev. K.W. Bree, Sr., eulogizing. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Danciger, Texas.

Margaret was born on September 18, 1938, in Cedar Lake, Texas to the late Cleveland and Matilda Merchant Woodard. She was the twin of Alice Woodard, who died shortly after birth. She was the youngest of her siblings. She confessed Christ early in life and became a member of Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lake, Texas. She later united with St. Mary-Bethlehem A.M.E. Church in Danciger, Texas where she served on the usher board and helped with many fundraising activities. Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses, Ephesians 4:32 "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."

She graduated from O.H. Herman High, Van Vleck, Texas in 1958 where she was a majorette in the band and a member of the basketball team.

Margaret was united in marriage to Roy Brown on February 14, 1959, to this union they shared their love with five children. They raised their children in the Danciger (Cedar Brake), Texas community with lots of love and spiritual guidance. She was an avid supporter of Charlie Brown Alumni Scholarship Fund that helps children further their education.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling and a favorite hobby was going to the casino with her sisters. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She worked many years as a food service manager at Columbia Lakes Resort and Country Club.

Margaret passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Park Manor of CyFair in Houston, Texas when the Lord put his arms around her and whispered "come with me".
