Marcus G. Garza Jr., 73, of Brady, TX passed away on March 9, 2025 in West Columbia. He was born on January 9, 1952 to Marcos and Librada Garza. Sr.
He served 35 years as a Correctional Officer and K-9 Handler for the Texas Department of Corrections and was also a Reserve Officer for the Angleton Police Department.
He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, and drinking coffee with his friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marcos Garza, Sr. and Librada Garza; son, Curtis Garza; brother, Charlie Garza and sister, Celia Garza-Camarillo.
He leaves treasured memories with his son, Shawn Garza (Stacy) of West Columbia; daughter, Luanna Diemert,(Jeremiah) of Lockport, New York; brothers, San Angelo Garza (Fina) of Dallas, Lorenzo Garza (Sue) of Hutto, Leroy Garza (Christina) of Mesquite; sister, Rose Chastain (Jack) of Goldthwaite; cousin, Collis Arey, Jr. of Pflugerville; ex-spouse, Joyce Lynn Garza of Clute, 3 grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
