Funeral services for Mansfield Parson, Jr. of Freeport will be Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Greater Mount Zion Church in Brazoria with Pastor David Rougeau eulogist. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cedar Lake, Texas. 

On Sunday, March 14, 2021, at CHI St. Luke's Health-Brazosport Hospital in Lake Jackson, Texas, he peacefully departed from this life at the age of 60 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Mansfield Parson, Sr.; his grandfathers, Chance Parson and Thomas Lee Hawkins; grandmothers, Ellen Callis Parson and Joyce Merchant; brothers, Anthony Parson and Patrick Parson; and a great-grandson, Ja'Karrian "Bubba" Sallins; uncle, George "Pigeon" Merchant; and aunt, Hattie Mae Wright.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Lena Diane Parson of Freeport, TX; his mother, Veola Parson of Freeport, TX; sons, Mansfield Parson, III (Alicia) of Seattle, WA, Thaddeus Parson (Nasiya) of Texas City, TX, Marcus Harris (Sonia), Milton Harris, Chevy Harris, and Christopher Harris, all of Freeport, TX; daughters, Kre’Meicha Galloway (David) of Las Vegas, NV, La’Wanda Parson of Freeport, TX, and Katrina Harris of Houston, TX; brothers, Alfred Parson (Margie), Calvin Parson, Robert Parson all of Freeport, TX, Nevin Parson, Sr. (Delicia) of Brazoria, TX, Eric Parson of Wharton, TX, and Gary Parson of El Campo, TX; sisters, Veosa Jammer of Freeport, TX and Sherounda Woodard of Clute, TX; special nephew, Trevin Parson; aunts, Betty Joyce Dumus of San Antonio, TX and Viola Ceasar (Charles) of El Campo, TX; best friends, George Stepner and Kevin Boles; 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and  friends.

Active pallbearers will be Calvin Parson, Nevin Parson, Sr., Undre Parson, Marcus Harris, Sam Edwards, Travis Gordon, Tyrees Gordon and Jeremiah Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Smith, Adam Troy Davidson, Robert Parson, Alfred Parson, DeShawn Parson, George Stepner, Kevin Boles, Trevin Parson, Torrey Gordon and ILA Local #30.

Visitation will be Friday, March 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.
