Lynda Jo Wiginton Danford was born in Victoria, Texas, September 23, 1951. Lynda passed away at the age of 70, on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at her home, in the presence of her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Sidney Wiginton and Billie Jean Lovelady Wiginton.
Lynda is survived by her husband of 24 years, Neal Danford; sons, David (Denise) Poland of Woodsboro and Patrick (Amy) Danford of Kingwood; daughters, Amy (Mitch) Horner of Woodsboro and Virginia Lou Danford of Angleton. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Wiginton and sisters, Patty (Bill) Baugh, and Billie Sue Dunnivan. Affectionately known as, “Momo”, Lynda is survived by 8 adored grandchildren, Garret Horner (Esme), Clay Horner, Sidney Horner, Luke Poland, Grace Danford, Victoria Danford, Justin Danford, Hannah (Danny) Bernardi; and 2 great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Samuel Bernardi; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Lynda was a 1970 graduate of Woodsboro High School. She enjoyed antique shopping and working in the yard, especially tending to her roses. She loved camping with family and friends. Furthermore, she was her children and grandchildren’s biggest fan at football, basketball, and baseball games, 4-H, dance recitals and any other activities they were involved in.
Mrs. Danford was overwhelmed by the love, prayers, cards, visits, and calls she received throughout her illness. She received loving medical care from St. Luke’s Baylor and MD Anderson medical staff and many compassionate nurses.
Visitation will be held at Dixon Funeral Home, 2025 E. Mulberry St., Angleton, Texas on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 3:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton officiated by David Wilson.
Graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. La Rosa Cemetery in Woodsboro, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Danford, Randall McKnight, Vee Garza, Jason Dunnivan, Brian Baugh and Greg White.
Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Henderson, Tommy Wiginton, Mike Delong, Jason Wilks, Clay Campbell and Steve White.
