Funeral services for Luberta Bell, 71, of Sweeny will be Friday, September 17, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Church in Brazoria, TX with Rev. Mark Bree, officiating and Rev. K. W. Bree, Sr., eulogizing. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cedar Lake, TX.
She was passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster, TX.
She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lake. “Lue” worked for Dillards for many years as a Sales Associate. Her customers loved her and she always welcomed everyone with her beautiful smile. She enjoyed working in her yard, resale shopping, decorating her house and road trips to historical places. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eula and Willie Carter, Sr.; son, William Bivens, Jr.; sisters, Willie Mae and Rose Mary Carter and nephew, Ronnie Earl Carter.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Bell, Sr., Sweeny; daughters, Alberta Bivens, Cedar Lake, LaShona Brown (Chris), Sweeny, Jennifer Bivens (Carl Williams), Clute; sisters, Nettie Lee Bivens, Marva Powell and Archner Carter, all of Brazoria; brothers, Willie Carter, Jr., Cedar Lake, Donald Ray Carter, Bay City; good friends, Rev. K.W. Bree, Sr., Maude and Mike Hall and Henry Sidney; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; god sister, Sandra Scott; godson, Shon Bernard, goddaughter, Zena Grice and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Jerry Garrett, Emmanuel Bree, Ulysses Bivens, Jr., Rodney Carter, Raymond Strickland and Collier Garner.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.
Due to the COVID-19 Virus, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
