Funeral services for Lionel Thomas, 79, of Clute, will be Friday, April 12, 2024 at10:00 a.m. at Bethel Full Gospel Baptist Church, 401 S. Avenue H, Freeport, TX with Pastor Gene Grear officiating.

Lionel passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

He was a member of Bethel Full Gospel Baptist Church. 

Lionel was preceded in death by his parents, Wade William Thomas and Mattie Lois Bradshaw Thomas; sisters, Willie Mae Burton Allen, Rachel Marie Oliver, Janet Faye Samuel and Vernell Jammer and brother, Roy Gene Thomas.

He leaves precious memories with his daughter, Rhonda Thomas; sisters, Millye Lavern Anderson (Willie), Houston, Velma L. Strambler (Myron), Clute, Betty West, Clute; Cynthia Diana Bryant (David), Clute and Gladys M. Shepard (Jerry), Houston; brothers, Arthur Thomas, Clute, Morris Thomas, Angleton and Daniel Roger Toombs, Angleton; good friend, David Williams, 4 grandchildren and a host of relatives. 

Active pallbearers will be Ernest Ray Cotton, Vincent Ward, Anthony Bryant, Courtnei Thomas, Corey Brill and Perry Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Thomas, Morris Thomas, David Bryant, Myron Strambler, Jerry Bryant and David Williams.

Visitation will be same day as service from 9:00 a.m. to 9:55 a.m.
