Funeral services for Lillie Bernard, 88, of Cedar Lake will be Saturday,  4, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lake, Texas, with Rev. Kenneth Bree officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cedar Lake, Texas.

On Sunday, August 22, 2021, she passed away at CHI St. Luke Health Brazosport in Lake Jackson, Texas.

Lillie Mae Bernard, affectionately known as “Moot,” was born on November 7, 1932, confessed her life to Christ at an early age, becoming a loyal and faithful member of Bethlehem Christian Church, where she served on the usher board and was in the choir. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan.

Lillie was the last surviving sibling before her passing. Lillie was preceded in death by parents; Samuel Austin Sr, Frankie Gee Austin, nine siblings; Jim Woodard, Cleo Austin, Lawrence Woodard, Samuel Austin Jr, Thomas Woodard, Willis Austin, George Gee, Willie Austin, and Rebecca Austin, two sons; Lester Bernard and Thomas Bernard, and daughter Elinor Bernard, daughters-in-law; Wanda Bernard and Dorothy Bernard.

Lillie leaves to cherish her loving memories sons; Clifford Bernard Jr, Charles Bernard, and Jerry Bernard, all of Cedar Lake, Texas, and Matthew Bernard (Rosalyn), Missouri City, daughters; Gladys Thomas (Andrew), Cedar Lake, Texas, and June Babineaux (David), Denver, Colorado, sisters-in-law; Jewel Austin of Cedar Lake, Texas, Willie Mae Friar of Houston, Texas, Earnestine Austin of Van Vleck, Texas, and Shirley Conway of Caldwell Texas, daughter-in-law; Carolyn Bernard, 21 grandchildren, host of great-grandchildren, host of great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Clifford Bernard Jr, Charles Bernard, Matthew Bernard, and Jerry Bernard.

Funeral services will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/DixonFuneralTX.

Due to the COVID-19 Virus, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
