Funeral services for Kurbert Deward Woods, 67, of Bay City, will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Greater Mt. Zion Church, 6437 FM 521, Brazoria, TX, with Pastor Michael Riddick, II, officiating. Burial will follow at Promise Land Cemetery, Brazoria.
Kurbert passed away in Houston on Friday, July 5, 2024.
Kurbert was member of Enterprise Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports.
Kurbert is preceded in death by his parents, Otto Woods, Sr. and Doris Woods and his brother, Otto Woods, Jr.
Kurbert leaves behind loving memories with his wife, Laura Woods; Mama Gloria “Glo” Woods; son, Darrell Turner; daughters, Tashania Walton and Xenia (Antione) Moody; brothers, Warren Woods, Manson Woods and Cedric Woods; sisters, Angu Woods, Ellen D. Franklin, LaWanna Janice, LaDale Copeland, Adron Baltrip, Jeanice Woods, Lisa (Phillip) Riles, Sharon Maxey; in-laws, Eldridge (Marsha) Green, Katherine (Charles) Woodard, Robert Green, Ellen (James) Smith, Helen (David) Dorsey, Lafe (Norvell) Green, Emmitte (Pam) Green, Stella Sam-Frierson; grandchildren, Darrell Turner III, Xavier Quintanilla, Jayce Turner, Bryce Turner, Trinity Randle, Heaven Turner, Jayden Turner, Naivy Walton, Mason Moody, Londynn Turner, and a host of relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Leross Garza, Leroy Garza, Marcus Fowler, DeKorean Woodard-Brooks, Peter Gartica and Boybick Soileau.
Visitation will be Friday, July 19, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.
