Funeral services for Krysta Shantel Johnson, 24, of Houston, TX, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church, 7817 Calhoun Road, Houston, TX, with Dr. Max A. Miller, Jr. eulogizing. 

Krysta passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

She enjoyed trail riding and dancing and was a member of Mares-R-Us Social Riding Club.

Krysta worked as a Pharmacy Front End Admin in customer care.  She graduated from Lamar High School in 2017 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Minor in Chemistry from Prairie View A&M University.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Frances Riley; great-grandmothers, Maxine Davis and Helen Davis and uncle; Rodney Johnson.

Krysta leaves to cherish her memories her parents, Corey Lynn Johnson, Sr. and Sharon Riley-Johnson of Houston, Texas; sisters, LaCorey Johnson (Casey) of Houston, Texas, Zaniya Johnson of Houston, Texas, Ashley Hall of Houston, Texas; brothers, Corey Johnson, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Corey Johnson III of Houston,Texas, Ashton Hall of Houston, Texas and Dominique Harris of Houston, Texas; grandparents, Thelma Earls (Leon) of Freeport, Texas, John Stredick, Sr, (Audrey) of Sugarland, Texas; uncle, Derrick Carter (Cynthia) of Katy, Texas; cousins, Cheyne’ Carter, Kaitlyn Carter, Jarren Carter, Joseph Carter and Devon Carter of Houston, Texas; best friends, Francesca Anderson of Dallas, Texas, Ayana Grovey of Houston, Texas, Jemea Guy of Houston, Texas; a host of P.V. family and close friends and a host of trail ride family and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Jarren Carter, Joseph Carter, Devon Carter, Zaniya Johnson, LaCorey Johnson and Jemea Guy.

Visitation will be same day as service from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
