Funeral services for John Simmons, 47, of Angleton will be Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1615 Skinner Street, Freeport, TX with Minister Darrius Allen officiating and Pastor Reggie Williams eulogizing. Burial will be at Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.

He passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 in Angleton, TX.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed going to the movies, helping others with odd jobs, and spending time with his friends and families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sandra and James “Jimmy” Simmons; grandparents, Charlie Dolly, Juanita Williams Dolly, James Simmons and Dorothy Brown Simmons.

He is survived by his sisters, Brenda Beverly (Albert Allen), Angleton, Clover Simmons, Vancouver, WA; brothers, Corey Rodriguez, Pensacola, FL, Jimmy Simmons Jr. (Stacey), Vancouver, WA; aunts, Cheryl Dolly, Angleton, Sandra Myers (Dorrie), St. Marys, Georgia, Jessica Ford (Robert), Apalachicola, FL, Frances Jones (Charles) Augusta, FL, Mary Mathis (Clyde), Panama City, FL. Terro Frazier-Dolly, Conroe, TX; Uncle, Bernard Simmons, Apalachicola, FL; brother-in-law, Joe Beverly Freeport and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Curtis Spaulding, Joe Spaulding, Roy Wash, T.J. Dolly, Willie Riley and Dray Lewis.

Visitation will be Friday, October 5, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist in Freeport, TX. A viewing will also be at the church on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
