Funeral services for Joe John Garza, 64, of Angleton will be Friday, January 14, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home – Angleton with Pastor Martin Zamora officiating.
He passed away at his residence on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
A great man has lost his battle to cancer. Joe John Garza was a county employee for Matagorda County Drainage District #1 for 25 years and retired in 2009. He loved to go fishing, crabbing, having barbeques, traveling, listening to his oldies and really enjoyed going to the game rooms. Everywhere he went, he made friends. He had such a good heart; he never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his father, Santos Garza; mother, Genoveva Garza; sister, Christina Garza; brothers, Ismaelle Garza and Lupe Garza; wife, Evelina C. Garza; son, Shorty Segovia and 3 grandchildren.
He is survived by Margarita Segovia, his loving companion for the last 17 years; daughter, Joanna Parada (Joe); sons, Joe Santos Garza (Savannah), Rene Sedillo (Elisa) and David Segovia (Belinda); daughters, Melissa Sedillo and Veronica Thompson; sister, Patricia Charles; brothers, Randy Garza, Cristobal Garza and Israel Garza; 20 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; his best of friends, Mr. John Martin, John and Donna Debraal, Cecilia Zarate, Tina Hawkins, Ashley Ayala, Dora and Becky Gonzales and Marina Lopez and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be same day as service from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Services will be limited to 100 attendees.
The family would like attendees to wear Dallas Cowboy attire.
Due to COVID, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
