JoAnn Clifton, 78, of Bay City formerly of West Columbia passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Matagorda House Healthcare Center in Bay City, TX. She was born on August 1, 1942 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Albert Hammac and Estelle Brown.

She loved playing cards with friends and bingo. Her greatest joy was feeding her family, spending quality time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Clifton; son; Gregory Clifton, Sr. mother; Estelle Jacobs and father, Albert Hammac.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories; son, Joseph Clifton and wife Candy of Sweeny; daughter, Sharon Rye of Brazoria; good friends, Pam Ward, Mary Reichert and Maybelle Carlton; 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Kraig Rye, Trey Roman, Michael Clifton, Gregory Clifton, Jr., William Tullos and Brad Brown.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.

Funeral service will be Monday, July 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria with Pastor Greg Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia Cemetery in West Columbia, TX.
