Jerry Emanuel Place, Sr.

Jerry Emanuel Place, Sr., 92, of Freeport, TX passed away on November 21, 2024 at his residence.  He was born in Bayou La Batre, Alabama on March 19, 1932 to Charles Emery and Mary Jane Place.

He enjoyed fishing, knitting casting nets and working on shrimp nets.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ella Place; son, Jerry Emanuel Place, Jr.; daughters, Linette Lolita Christmas, Brenda Joyce Clark; grandson, Daniel Emanuel Salinas; 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

Jerry leaves precious memories with his sons, Ronald Lee Place, Bryne Keith Place, Charles Emery Place; daughter, Jane Estelle Place-Montez (Daren); brother, George Hudson Place; 14 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton on Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until service time.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Jordan, officiating.  Burial will follow at Gulf Coast Cemetery in Clute, TX.

Pallbearers will be Daren Montez, Leonel Salinas, Kyler Smith, Koda Smith, Jerry “Bubba” Place III and Taylor Place.
