James Edward Strother, 62, of Brazoria, passed away on February 15, 2025 in Brazoria. He was born in Freeport, Texas, on February 28, 1962 to Glenford Strother and Jewel McPherson Charry.
He was a pipefitter/mason and earned the achievement of Master Brick Mason. He was also a member of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana.
James enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing dominoes.
He was preceded in death by his father; Glenford Strother; paternal grandparents; Babe and Daisy Strother and maternal grandparents; Calvin Lee and Frances Tooke McPherson.
James leaves precious memories with his wife, Shelia Dianne Strother, Brazoria; daughters, Jessica Daigle and Renee Brett, both of Brazoria; sons, Jarrod Glen Strother, Brazoria and Mitch Johnson, Monroeville, AL; mother, Jewel Charry (RJ Charry), Angleton; sisters, Sharon Strother Parks (Commander Jeff Parks, USN), Lakeside CA and Rhonda Strother Clark (Will Clark), Angleton; brother; Charles Lee Strother (Pamela Strother), Brazoria; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; best friends, Troy Roundtree and James “Lumpy” White, both of Brazoria, and Lonnie Truitt, West Columbia and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria with CDR Jeff Parks, USN officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
