Funeral services for James Lyn Miles, 57, of Rosharon, TX, will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church Family Life Center, 523 North Parrish, Angleton, TX, with Pastor Larry Brooks officiating and Pastor Alonzo Brown, eulogizing.  Interment will follow at Angleton Cemetery in Angleton, TX.

James passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 in Houston, TX.

James loved dogs and horses and spending time playing dominoes with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his son, Justin Lyn Edwards; grandmother, Thelma Miles; grandfather, Mondella Miles; Sister, Jessica Dykes.

James is survived by his devoted wife, Kimberley Miles, Rosharon; father, James  Miles Sr.(Travis), Houston; mother, Gladys Miles Stewart, Angleton; sons, Cliffton Franklin (Etavia) and Ja’Koreyan Williams, both of Angleton; stepson, John Dailey, Rosharon; daughter, Jaresha Miles, New Orleans, LA; stepdaughters, Tiffany Johnson (Julius), Pearland and Jontavia Dailey, Rosharon; sisters, Gay Walker, Angleton, Kelly Miles, Fresno, Natalie Miles (Jerry), Rosenberg, Kim Miles, Magnolia, Jamie Bamba, Fresno, Karolyn Stredic and Jasmine Miles (Genaro), both of Houston; brothers, Eric Miles and Kendron Miles, both of Angleton, Darren Miles, Fort Worth, Jason Miles (Jill), League City, James Miles, Jr. (Lauren) and Anthony Miles, both of Houston, Grayland Judkins (Dianne) of Angleton; grandmother, Lucinda Mills, Angleton;  best friends, Jerome Davis (Devonda), Cameron Mitchell and Robert Beasley (Nina), all of Rosharon; special nephews, Denman Sterling and James Townsend, 6 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Marcus Richardson, Dwight Holmes, Marcus Rice, Roderick Perry, Anthony Turner, Andre Turner, Danny Woods, Jermaine Rice and Demetrius Holloway.

Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Castille, Avris Daggs, Darrell Waddy, Robert Beasley, Sean Woodard, Julius Johnson and Spencer Green Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton, TX.

Visitation will also be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at First Missionary Baptist Church Family Life Center from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
