Funeral services for Deacon James Marshall Sr., 73, of Freeport, TX will be Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Church in Brazoria, TX with Elder Don Marshall Sr. officiating and Elder Roland Hendricks eulogizing. Burial will follow at Paradise Memorial Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.
He passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at his residence.
He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Prairie View A&M University and served as a reservist in the United States Marine Corp. He worked for Dow Chemical for 27 years and was an Educator for Brazosport ISD. Also, he was a deacon at Greater Mt. Zion Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports, barbecuing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 50 years, Ruby Marshall, Freeport, TX; daughter, Shonda Marshall, Freeport, TX; sisters, Bobbie Gee, Houston, TX, Helen Parker (Robert), Missouri City, TX, JoAnn Marshall, Brazoria, TX; brothers, Lee Otis Marshall, Sr. (Vivian), Houston, TX, Elder Donald Marshall Sr. (Beverly Ann), Pearland, TX; son-in-law, Quincy Beasley, Spring, TX; 4 grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Randy Robertson Sr, Quincy Beasley, Todd Bowie, Dedrick Thompson, Don Marshall Jr, Willie Lewis, Kindrick Smith and Shmir Lewis.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton, TX.
Due to the COVID-19 Virus, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
