Funeral Services for James Holland, 72, of Angleton, TX will be Friday, February 26, 2021 at Dixon Funeral Home, 2025 East Mulberry, Angleton, TX. Interment will follow at a later date at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX.
He passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at UTMB Health Angleton Danbury Campus, Angleton, TX.
James attended Walnut Grove Baptist Church as a child. Upon graduation from Anna Strong High School in 1967, he joined the United States Air Force in which he received an honorable discharge.
He managed multiple fast-food chains, retired from Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division (Terrell Unit), and was founder and CEO of Holland Real Estate Services and Movers.
James had a passion for cars, piddling around with and diagnosing car issues, watching football and basketball, utilizing new apps and computer software systems, and reading informative books that enhanced his knowledge regarding his career or hobby.
James is preceded in death by his mother, Verlee Holland-Hamilton; father, Spaniel Butler; adoptive parents, Will and Magnolia Alexander; brothers, Lloyd Hamilton and Dwight Hamilton; sister, Barbara Holland-Thomas (Neil), and stepson, Michael Atkinson.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving devoted wife, Sandra Atkinson Holland; biological sons, Torrie Jackson and Sabara Cranford (Markeshia); step children, Cheryl Atkinson, Cornelius Atkinson, Andrew Atkinson (Kathy), and Tomika Atkinson Winters (Willie); stepmother, Rosie Hamilton; brothers, Bobby Hamilton (Anita), Percy Hamilton (Beverly), and John Butler (Michelle); sisters, Diane Hamilton, Renee Lockhart (DeWayne) and Christine Hamilton; biological grandchildren, Quazae Jackson, Taqualya
Jackson, Arielle Jackson, Ja'Mya Cranford, Keylieya Cranford, Sakhia Cranford, and a host of step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Torrie Jackson, Sabara Cranford, Andrew Atkinson, and Willie Winters.
Visitation will be at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
