James Monroe Gavin Sr.

James Gavin, Sr., 87, of Angleton passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Country Village Care in Angleton, Texas.  He was born February 4, 1934 in Brazoria, TX to proud parents Charles and Peggy Gavin.

He worked for many years and retired from Brazoria County tax office. He was a Life Member of the Brazoria County Fat Stock and Fair Association. He loved working with his cattle and spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by son, James Gavin Jr. and wife Sherilene Gavin; step-son, Bubba Griffin and wife Lisa Griffin; step-daughter, Connie Wilson; good friend, Mary Barrett; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria, TX. 

He will have a private burial and be laid to rest at the Brazoria Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.
