Funeral services for Irving Mitchell, 89, of Angleton will be Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton, TX. with Deacon Rob Ward officiating. Burial will follow at West Columbia Paradise Cemetery in West Columbia, TX.
He passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at UTMB Health Angleton Danbury Campus in Angleton, TX.
“Rabbit” as he was fondly called by his friends and family, enjoyed painting, cooking, watching westerns, raising birds, gardening, and planting fruit trees.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria Mitchell and wife, Sheila Mitchell.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Rivas (Sylvia), Richwood, Anthony St. John, Trinidad; daughters, Donna Carrington (Kenworth), Angleton, Amelia Almazan, West Columbia, Annette Payne (Andrew), Vancouver, Canada; special friend, Willie Ruth Baldridge, West Columbia; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Geoffrey Baldridge, Vincent Baldridge, Sherman Baldridge, James Spears, Curtis Rogers, and Michael Rivas.
Honorary pallbearers will be Quinton Martin, Ka'Dyine Monroe, Phillip Monroe and Jacob Baldridge.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton, TX.
