Hilda Rita O’Neill, 89, passed away on August 22, 2020 at her residence in Angleton, TX, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 8, 1931 to Serbulo and Mercedes Ortiz in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico.

Hilda was baptized in May 1962 at the Trade Show Building in New York. In 1968 she went to Puerto Rico and served as a pioneer at Guayama, Salinas, St. Croix Virgin Island, Venezuela, Curacao, Freeport, and Angleton, TX. She was a pioneer for the last 40 years.

Hilda enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mercedes Ortiz, Serbulo Ortiz; sister, Eneida Ortiz and brother, Sigfredo Ortiz.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Efrain O’Neill; sons, Efrain O’Neill (Raquel), Jerry O’Neill (Inez), and John D. O’Neill (Genoveva); daughters, Helen M. O’Neill, Jeanette O’Neill and Noemi O’Neill; sister, Evi Ortiz Leon (Miguel); brothers, Ramon Ortiz, Orlando Ortiz, and Serbulo Ortiz; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
