Funeral services for Herman James Franklin Jr., 71, of Angleton will be Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Angleton, TX (Chenango Community) with Pastor Timothy Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Angleton, TX.

He passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Jennie Sealy Hospital in Galveston.

He loved to fish, cook and Barbecue. He served in the Army and was honorably discharged.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Franklin, Sr.; grandparents, Rosie and Irvin Franklin Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris Franklin, Angleton; mother, Mary Franklin, Los Angeles, CA; daughters, Rosemary Franklin Lino (Dana), Carson, CA, Katrina Franklin, Inglewood, CA; stepsons, Roy Townsend, Jr., Erick Townsend, Steven Townsend (LaTricia), all of Lake Jackson, Troy Townsend (fiancée Angie), Angleton; sister, Janet Franklin, Oakland, CA; brother, Clarence Franklin, Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Raina Lino, Daila Lino, Simone Grossley, Simeon Grossley II, Jaylen Townsend and Tamyra Townsend; good friends, Edward Miller Sr., Calvin Casteal and Kenneth Branch; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Thomas Holiday, Eugene Law, Jessie Bradshaw, Henry Bradshaw,  Errick Townsend and Ronald Bradshaw.

Visitation will be Friday, May 29, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
