Kirby Jordan, 89, of Brazoria, TX passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025 at his home in Brazoria, TX. He was born on August 26,1935 to Thomas P Jordan and Addie Bell Jordan. He graduated school in Spurger, TX. He was refereeing a basketball game in Honey Island, TX where he met the love of his life, Ruby. They married in February 1955 and spent 69 years raising their family and sharing their lives camping, fishing, gardening, raising cattle and spending time with family.
He retired from Dow Chemical after 34 years of service. After retirement he was employed by Brazoria County Sheriff’s office where he obtained his Master Peace Officer Certification, retiring with 20 plus years between the Reserves and Active service. He served with the Brazoria Volunteer Fire Department retiring as Assistant Chief. He also served on Brazoria City Council for a number of years.
Besides his career he was very active in his family’s life as a scout master, baseball coach, and mentor to the neighborhood kids.
Once you met Kirby, you were part of his family. He was the rock and foundation for all his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Jordan; his parents and 17 siblings; son, Howard Lewell Jordan; grandson, Lewis Patrick Pullon; son-in-law, Lewis Harlon Pullon.
Kirby is survived by his sons, Garland Jordan (Carol) of Sweeny, TX, Allen Jordan (Kathy) and David Jordan (Tina) both of Brazoria, TX; daughter, Anita Pullon of Richwood, TX; sisters, Jean Paddie Graham of Jacksonville, NC, Betty Jo Larue of Zwolle, LA; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Brazoria on Thursday, March 27, 2025 prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. The funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with David Jordan officiating and Bro. Greg Smith eulogizing. Burial will follow at Colonial Cemetery in Brazoria.
Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.
