Gregory Darnell Monroe

On April 20, 1980, God sent a wonderful blessing to Tommy and Annie Louise Monroe in the form of a handsome baby boy, Gregory Darnell Monroe.

He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Windsor Village United Methodist Church, under the leadership of Pastor KirbyJon Caldwell. He graduated from Sweeny High School and went to Brazosport College.

On June 26, 2010, Greg married the love of his life Brittany Michelle and they lived a good and blessed life.

Greg loved his toys, customizing cars, going to car shows, riding his motorcycle, and going to motorcycle rallies in Galveston. He returned to Brazosport College to complete his degree in Automotive Technology. He loved “The Punisher”, watching wrestling, going to the gun range and watching movies. Greg enjoyed playing his playstation and 80’s films. Greg was employed with the Brazoria County Juvenile System in Angleton, Texas. Everyday Greg enjoyed life. He enjoyed coming home to his wife and his dogs. I ask everyone to keep my light shining in their hearts.

On August 15, 2020, God called him home to join his father and mother whom he missed so much. What a reunion. My spirit continues to shine through my wife and best friend, Brittany Monroe; mother-in-law, Brenda Ratliff (Climmie); father-in-law, Michael Johnson (Cheryl); brother-in-law, Ira Smith (Shanteria); aunts, Marilyn Dickerson (Otis), Thelma “Tiny” Thompson, Leslie Monroe, Dorris Phillips (Jesse), Loris Woodard (Lonnie), and Freddie Taylor; uncles, Lee Jones, Jr., Elmo Jones (Charlotte), Robert “Butch” Jones (Teresa), Howard Jones, and Kenneth Jones, Sr., (Rita), God-sister, Ekira Jones; special cousin, Chris Jones; special friends, Daryl Johnson, Kenneth Hall, Damonric Smith, and Otis Bell; and a host of relatives and friends. ,
