Glenda Taylor, 71, of Brazoria, passed away on May, 19, 2024 in Brazoria. She was born to Glen Ray Brown and Myrtle Lorena McKay on January 7, 1953 in Odessa, Texas.
Glenda loved the outdoors. She enjoyed all her animals, especially her crazy looking chickens and her puppy dogs, Gunner and Prissy. She loved gardening and always had a huge smile on her face coming out of PomPoms with an arm load of new flowers. She loved horseback riding on her favorite horse Cinnamon on many wild trail rides, where she was a member for many years. Glenda loved to dance and cut a rug at every honky tonk in Brazoria County. She also loved her barbeque cook-offs, where her team took home many trophies over the years. She was known, in certain circles as the "HLIC". In her off time, she loved to read on her tablet, loved Netflix and loved all her Facebook friends. She would have a full blown "episode" if the wifi went out.
A proud and dedicated member of the VFW auxiliary, Glenda’s commitment and contributions to the organization allowed her to advance through the ranks. She truly enjoyed helping our veterans. Some of her best friends were fellow auxiliary members.
Professionally, Glenda worked as a civil servant for the City of West Columbia as superintendent for the water and waste water department for over 30 years. She was always on the scene when the crap hit the fan and knew how to fix the problem with common sense and a level head. She was featured in the Facts on more than one occasion for her hard work and dedication.
Glenda is preceded in death by her father, Glen Ray Brown and her mother, Myrtle "Mert" McKay Brown Casey Louvier; sisters, Iona McCormick (Aunt Punkin) and Silvia Ake (Aunt Silver).
Glenda leaves behind her beloved daughter, Terri Christine "Crissy" Taylor, 53, of Brazoria, her companion, Greg Pierce, 48, of Sweeny, and many lifelong friends. We all miss you ! The world isn't the same without you in it!!!
RIP Mama. I'll meet you at the crossroads.
